Lingvist: Learn Languages Fast App Reviews

Dont be quick to judge!

The biggest complaint I see people posting about is the lack of languages. The website/app is in beta and eventually more will be added. That in itself isnt worth basing your judgement on. As a person learning French I find this app immensely helpful! Granted, I wish it taught grammar concepts/how to form sentences rather than individual words; combining this app with ones like Duolingo helps fill in the gaps. The app also lacks the ability to view more than one previous flashcard (this is on the website as well) and it also lacks the ability to star words you want to appear more often. With that is also is lacking in a way to stop words from appearing. Yes, I know what seul and noir mean please stop showing me them! The time feature is great! Lingvist promises that youll learn a language in 200 hours and Ill be excited to see where Im at then. It also helps if youre trying out the First 20 Hours Challenge. Seeing how much you can learn in 20 hours as thats when the majority of learning occurs. Im at 11 hours with the app currently but have spent far more time working on French outside of Lingvist. I dont usually write reviews but this little app deserves more credit than its getting. Would recommend it in my French Starter Kit anyday!

Merci!

Ok, heres the thing, if you already know some French and want to refresh your memory, learn new words, get familiar with colloquial expressions and argot this app is perfect for you. Get a book, learn some grammar, and use this app to bolster your vocabulary. Thats how its worked for me. God! I love how it keeps track of all my progress, and the audio recordings, and the design! This is a groundbreaking app and the moment they add more languages and amplify the grammar tips section this thing is going to be beyond perfection!

Excellent App

Great layout, easy to use, fantastic for a beginner. Love it!

Its a great app for learning French!

The app is well designed, and the layout is gorgeous! I love the gramma tips which are included in the app! I give it 4 stars because it can be improved. One of the suggestions that I have is to collect the cards/tips(for example, the conjugation of faire) which are shown when learning new words at a place while being kept as the same form(looking like a card) without deleting some details of them. Besides that, it would be great when there are multiple languages to learn. Thats all the improvements I can think of for now. Thank you all for making the app, you did a great job! : )

J aime cette app

I took a bit of French a hundred years ago, and was never any good at pronunciation (Ill never get that "r"). Im loving this app! Easy to use for just the basic words and pronunciation, but has so many other useful features when you start looking for more info (verb conjugation, clarification when you choose a wrong, but similar word, etc.). And I like not being pestered to buy more, as with some of the "free" apps that want you to purchase premium content. Only french, but that is all Im interested in right now. Great app, MERCI!
